Auto-Sleepers camper van conversions began in 1961 and since they have manufactured their own Volkswagen camper van conversions based on the trusted VW T4 & VW T5 models.

Auto-Sleepers Volkswagen T4 Trooper

In 1991 Autosleeper launched the VW T4 Auto-Sleepers Trooper, a solid sided elevating roof model and the high-top roof variation Auto-Sleepers Trident.

Both models had the same internal layout with units along one side and a forward facing bench seat that transforms into a double bed. The rear travelling / bed seat was fitted further back giving a larger entrance space but smaller boot.

Auto-Sleepers T4 styling could be described as more "softly furnished" with carpet lining throughout the camper van and more kitchen facilities.

Based on the VW T4 VW T4 Autosleeper also had a rear kitchen and toilet model named the Trophy and a small coachbuilt named the Clubman, these were lower volume production models and are quite rare.

Auto-Sleepers Volkswagen T5 Trooper

In 2004 the VW T5 was introduced and Autosleeper continued with their model range.

New colour schemes and furniture trim was launched and the option of a low line Pop top over the solid sided roof on the Trooper. Both models continued but the Trooper was soon in the shadow of the VW T5 California launched in the UK in 2006.

The Trophy changed name to the Topaz and continued to be a popular model featuring a toilet and shower albeit in low sales volume. A similar layout is now found in the Westfalia Joker launched in the UK in 2014.

We have just returned from our trip abroad, travelling through 7 countries and the camper took everything in it's stride, it was a pleasure to drive and trouble free.
